I’m glad I don’t have $48,000 to spend on a very, very bad idea!

Wanna talk bad ideas? A friend bought a Ferrari 308 a few months ago.. 30k miles, 36k USD.
I drove it for a few miles, and sure it’s fun to be in a Ferrari.. but MY GOD it’s a shitty car.. the pedals are not where they should be, the steering wheel is in the wrong spot and at the wrong height, you can’t see shit in any direction.
That said, I’d’ve bought it if I had the money ;P

I’ve been watching these for awhile now, looking for ones with a legit manual, not the flappy paddles. Not looking to buy, just keeping track of the depreciation because we can dream you know. Only came across 2 in the last 6 months or so, one auction ended early because it sold locally and the other didn’t reach the reserve with a max bid in the low 40’s. I think 48K for this one is fair, but prices will continue to come down a little before bottoming out.
Also you can pick up a Vanquish for around 60K and a Vanuish S will set you back just shy of 100K.

Still a better idea than one of Tavarish’s Biturbo V12 Mercs.

Aston’s flappy-paddle box is truly horrific. #1 thing that turned me off of the DB9/V8 Vantage.

Any Aston’s Garziano manu-matic box left a _ l o t _ to be desired, indeed. So, the manual box is the best way to go, no doubt. Loved both the V8 in the VantageS as well as the V12 in a DB9. Both pretty thirsty, however. The V8 at full song, on a fairly empty D-land Autobahn, required $150-160 worth of fuel every two hours (189mphMAX,) not surprisingly. But more so the DB9. Driven relatively spiritedly on Pacific Coast Highway to the original C&C in Irvine and back, total of 160 miles, it took just over 16 gallons for the the early journey. Nice cars to spend some time in, indeed. But, as my long time friend stated, “Let James drive an Aston. But you and me, let’s keep driving PORSCHE cars, any PORSCHE cars, for ever.”

Holy crap you are right! I just checked prices a few weeks and ago thought they were still way above that. You can actually buy a DB9 for under 30 grand (teatime money) here!
