I’m finally in Oshkosh...
The Q&A for the F-35 was very entertaining, especially when the pilot and Lockheed rep were asked about its recent dogfighting test against the F-16.

“There is nothing wrong with F-35... it is best performer. Please, view the F-22 performance... the F-35 was built from F-22 bloodline.”

I wonder how many of us here on Oppo have now seen one in the flesh? Can’t be that many yet. I saw one while on vacation in the UK at the RAF museum (apparently that was considered a good place to put one). I’m not sure that one was complete, as such.

F-22 foreground.
The F-35 is off to the right in the background (forward opening canopy)

And I can’t be bothered to drive 40 miles to go there. Shucks.

i keep my fingers cross that a work project will end up with me having to go to an AF base to get up close and personal with one of these.

Yep, F-35 in background.
Didn’t mean to make everyone think I didn’t know which was which.

F-22 or F-35? I saw the F-22 a few years ago at an air show in San Antonio, but I saw my first F-35 just last May at an air show at Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX. Actually, I was hanging out off the airfield when two -35s arrived for Friday practice, and I managed to take some crappy pictures of them.
