Tap it against the wall really hard with a heel to absorb it. Or you know that spare saber you have hanging around could just slice the neck off.

Got a saber laying around?
(I think it only works for champagne because of the pressure)

Winner. That with a pry bar did the trick. Drink on!

A rubber mallet and tapping the bottom of the bottle gently will raise the cork. Also if you are drinking a fizzy wine you can use a machete to “sabre” the cork off and really impress your lady. Just remember to use the seam of the bottle as your guide and use a smooth straight stroke and that whole top will pop off.

Machete’s work well for that. and yes the bottle has to be carbonated. I have yet to try it with a caged beer cork though. one of these days when I find a beer that I’m willing to experiment with I’ll take a video of it. but in my house, no fizzy wine bottle gets open the standard way any more. it makes sunday funday that much more fun.
