The front page has been in a moto-mood lately, so to follow suit I have for you a classic Honda motorcycle.
This is a 1986 Honda Interceptor VFR700. I am a sucker for anything in the classic HRC colors, so I love the way it looks. Under the fairings is a water cooled V-4 pushing out just under 100hp. Early Honda V-4’s had issues with cam gears which challenged the reputation of the company and scared away some customers. At this point though, any bike that had such issues has most likely been repaired by now. Still, do your homework when looking at older V-4 Hondas.
I myself have a 1996 Magna which has a 750cc Honda V-4. It is the same engine out of the carbureted VFR’s in the 90’s but with chain driven cams instead of gear driven. Also, the cams in the Magna are different and favor mid-range power. I absolutely love the engine in my Magna. It is smooth, very responsive and sounds like nothing else. So you can imagine my want for this Interceptor is very, very, very strong. This VFR would be my perfect sporty compliment to my cruiser-y Magna. But, I need the money for other things right now and I don’t have the space. So would somebody please buy this before I am tempted to do something stupid. Link to the original ad is below.

That is a beautiful bike. I had a Hawk GT with a similar spar frame and ELF swing arm, and always liked the VF and VFR bikes, in general.
The NR750-inspired VFR-750 is probably the pinnacle of the styling game, though, right after the VFR700.
Although I do quite like the VFR800 fuel-injected bike right before the ill-fated VFR1200, as well.
I love white, red, and blue on bikes with a factory livery context. It looks great on R1100S BoxerCup Replicas, too.
If I had crazy money, I would build an R120S DOHC bike with R1100R/RNineT guts, a custom Duolever/Hossack front end, and styling mixed from R1100S and the Concept 90 bike, that commemorated the 40th Anniversary of BMW’s R90S, and the 90th Anniversary of BMW Motorrad and the original R32.

I could not agree more! You, I like.
And yes, the VFR1200 made no sense. It was heavier, more luxurious and had a greater emphasis on touring. And yet, it had less range than the outgoing VFR800! What sense does that make?
