Stoptech slotted rotors and Hawk HP+ pads installed yesterday. New lines and fluid hopefully here today or tomorrow.

Also got an oil cooler on the way to hopefully help me be able to run multiple laps at a time now. That and I will be doing a meth kit at the same time. Would have been nice to get all that done before the summer started, bleh.

Haven't driven it much yet but the different seems pretty extraordinary.

The HP+ are honestly a terrible pad.. They feel too wooden and they are too grabby while lacking modulation...

Plus their dust is metallic and very bad for paint and wheel finish.... I’ll never use them again.

Do yourself a favor and dump them. Their only redeeming quality is price

I love me some EBC RedStuff. I replaced the super-dusty stock pads on my old Mazdaspeed 6 were with the RedStuffs. Way better stopping, no noise (unlike most other high performance pads I’ve tried) and so much less dust than even the stock pads.

The Redstuff is not in the same class as the HP+; the Yellowstuff is. It’s a much better pad but it does have a bit less ultimate Mu

PFC-08 is a great alternative if its available. Last forever, relatively insensitive to heat, and quiet.

I’ve had a couple of sets of the 08. Great pad... they’re not the greatest for the street and they dust a ton, but they’re super nice to rotors (not very abrasive)

On the NB I had before that MS6, I ran Axxis Ultimates and then Hawk HP+. The Hawks stopped better but were dusty and noisy.

I always thought GreenStuff = HPS and RedStuff = HP+? Or is it RedStuff = HPS and YellowStuff = HP+?

Never used them on the street, so never really took the time to notice. Last forever on the track. I assumed with NT01s street driving wasn’t the priority...

I just got a rear disk conversion for my 240Z with drilled and slotted 1986 Nissan Maxima rotors and calipers. Way better than the drums. They make a funny noise I can hear with the windows down, like a quiet card in bike spokes, I guess its the holes.

I have a set of slotted and dimpled rotors that were just installed on the ZR-1 and I get the same noise. I don’t know if it’s the dimples or the slots; if the ‘96 were running I could compare since that one only has slotted rotors.

Could be both, it’s just the air going past like the top of a bottle, I just had a feeling it was the round ones because of that effect we know.
