Yeah, that would be cool. Half of Oppo probably watch the races. I really wanted to get something together locally in my area where on race weekend on Sunday evenings, we project it at a bar or something. I just don’t know anyone other than me who would go.

I moved to Memphis in the early 90s, Marine Corps family. I went to elementary school in Raliegh (mostly black, low income suburb of Memphis) moved to Shelby County for middle and high school went to Shadowlawn Middle Elementary and Bartlett High School. Military after high school for 10 years came back worked at a dealership for a few months met my wife, moved to Franklin for her company, found work here, just moved to Murfreesboro to buy a house.

Yep, ran many a Regional Track Championship there. I miss the better surface street infrstructure from Memphis, it is a nightmare trying to get anywhere in Nashville in a reasonable amount of time.

True, largely because of the huge influx of people that have moved there recently. Memphis has decently wide streets, while Nashville’s are (or feel) narrower. Nashville, on the other hand, seems to have pretty competent leaders, while Memphis politics are a joke. I'm guessing you're old enough to remember King Willie?

Hey, forgot to mention, there's an independent Porsche shop right next to the Shell on Summer where it hits Elmore (having gone to Bartlett, I assume you know where this is). I actually worked there the past two summers (but not this summer). If you ever have the time, go over there and check it out. The owner, my old boss, is a super cool guy and he usually has a lot of cool stuff in the shop. He also races in PCA. Just for future reference

Yeah that is Pat Williams Porsche Racing Shop. He’s got several racecars, and build track/race prepped cars for a lot of people.

The shop is also right next to the State Trooper office and Shelby county DMV.

I know dude I worked there! He’s a great dude and was fun to work for. Best in the business. His cars usually win their classes in PCA racing. He had the only J-class car (997.2 GT3RS) in PCA club racing for like two years before the owner decided he didn’t want to race anymore.

i totally glossed over you saying you worked there. What did you do there? And yeah, dude is actually a Porsche legend, there were some older model cars he built for a guy out in California and he sold it for a huge amount of money with that “Pat Williams Racing-built” tag.

Yeah, he even rebuilt an original ‘73 2.7 motor for a guy up in New York State. I was basically just his apprentice, did shop work, turned wrenches, washed cars, a little marketing stuff. It was lots of fun and very interesting. When it comes to aircooled motors, turbo or NA, he's king. We had lots of discussions about Sharkwerks/Magnus Walker and the like.
