For the week while the FoST is finally getting some !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Was a pain getting quotes and then an appointment but by next week, I’ll be whole.

Charger is a 2015 model, SXT, dark blue, 8 speed auto, 3.6L V6. Ask me anything about it if you want.

Observations:

It feels like a boat but highway cruising is very comfortable.
The 8-speed auto likes to stay around 1500 rpms (seriously, at 72mph and 8th gear it is at 1500).
Putting your foot down will have the Charger happily downshift a couple gears to get you to 4000+ rpms.
3.6L V6 puts out 292hp and 260 lb-ft...with a heavy car it still surprised me in the mid-range rpms with deceptive speed.
UConnect system or whatever is smooth. Haven’t paired my phone yet.

Wish I had a V8.

This is TBD. Only chance I had was a stop sign after an offramp. Wasn’t very happy with it...to be honest. There will be other chances.

How’s the steering? I was interested in one to freak people out on the highway so they get out of the passing lane. I was afraid it would steer like a pig

From the inside out:

Wheel is large...weird smooth plastic/leather feel but that is based on trim level. Don’t really feel any feedback or resistance. You can tell there’s a lot of electronic assistance going on to make your input translate to the road but all that makes it smooth. It’s a comfortable cruiser, not a corner tamer by any means. Took an S off-ramp at a little speed and I was confident it would do what I asked...just a lot of body adjustment from the roll. It’s a big girl for sure and completely different from what I’m used to so take any input with a grain of salt.

I would imagine different feel at different trim levels as they would spec out differently. I personally had thought about one in R/T spec (a V8 would be nice for this, no doubt) but I’m not at a point where I can swing it. I think it would serve your purpose haha.

Test drives are fun so give it a shot!

Did you drive the predecessor? I’m wondering whether Chrysler could actually improve on it, or if they made it worse with changes. The first gen was an amazingly smooth and decent-handling highway cruiser.

That sucks on the FoST. Mine has, knock on wood, not collected a door ding or other parking lot rash since I got it (lots of super careful parking and walking). The only damage was when some damned SUV launched a sharp rock into me, leaving a gash in my hood and two scratch-chips in my windshield.

I drove a 2012 rental a couple years ago. Pretty much the same just more efficient due to the 8 speed, upgraded interior. Handling felt the same and cruising on the highway was about right. It’s definitely a comfortable and smooth cruiser.

“I was interested in one to freak people out on the highway so they get out of the passing lane.”

I do this in my mom’s Impala.

It’s kinda cruel but also a little funny.
