Hey Nissan...

We, as enthusiasts, are aware that the Nissan Zama/DNA private collection exists with some of the best and rarest Nissans ever built. We have known this for years. We have also known for years that you keep it private.

So knowing that you have one of the greatest collections of fair Fairladys and Skylines at your disposal, it’s relatively disappointing when the only thing open to the public is the Nissan Engine Museum (which only has 2 cars, and around 20 engines) and at your headquarters only display a G Nose S30 police car and an old Datsun fire engine, plus the current models.

It’s not that what you had out isn’t cool, it’s just there’s soooooo much more you have, yet won’t display for the average enthusiast.

C’mon, Nissan.

Might get a response if you spell “Datsun” correctly.

Maybe they have realized that it might be a bit awkward to display so much awesome cars and then have only lame ones in the dealerships?

I guess in Japan Nissan might still have something interesting in dealerships but their selection in Europe is utterly boring. And yes GT-R is sold here but no-one buys them so you don’t see them in dealerships either.

Toyota does a good job with this at Megaweb. Good variety of history and easily accessed.

There is so much more to Nissan than just Z cars and GT-Rs. God I hate it when people reduce great manufacturers to just very few of their cars.

I am now disappointed that the GT-R didn’t come with a V12.

Nissan has clearly abandoned enthusistas and don’t listen to them at all. That’s one reason why we have a Juke Nismo R and not a Sentra or Versa Nismo R.

Same situation in the U.S., perhaps worse.

Nissan: We Build Disappointment

Have been a big Nissan fan in the past, but they seem headed in the wrong direction. For example, I like the Infiniti G37S more than the Q50 (and let’s not even get started about that silly “Q all the things” naming scheme). Meanwhile other models just soldier on without substantial updates. It’s not that they can’t build great, fun cars, it’s that they often don’t.

For Fairlady and Skyline enthusiasts like myself (which make up a majority of Nissan fans), that’s what matters most. And I believe their DNA collection does comprise mostly of Skylines and Fairladies.

I just realized that GT-R isn’t anymore even offered by the Finnish Nissan dealers. Maybe they can still order one but now they aren’t even trying to sell these. The 370Z still is sold here though.

They produce some of their line here specifically for a local American audience, which means many of their cars are pretty awful. Our laws result in a lot of funky versions of cars, too.
