If you’ve been following my photo posts on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , or my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! posts, you’d know that we’ve been in DC for the last couple of days. Today, we spent the morning at the DC Zoo, dropped my brother-in-law off at Reagan National at about 2:00 pm, then drove to Lexington, KY. We got in around midnight. If you’ve never driven I-64 west from I-81 in Virginia, you really should. It’s a stunningly beautiful road, with very little traffic and lots of ups and downs and curves and mountains. The New River Valley will take your breath away. We passed through Charleston, WV at night, and I wish I could have seen it during the day. But the capitol lit up at night is beautiful.
Tomorrow we head to Louisville to tour the Louisville Slugger factory, with a stop at Daniel Boone’s grave on the way, then down to Mammoth Cave for some spelunking. Then the Drive Home from Mammoth Cave to Austin, which should be about 16 hours long.
