I know I felt like VR was coming in 1995 when I played Dactyl Nightmare at Cybermind, then it didn’t really happen. Home PC’s were just not going to cut it and displays have only really gotten good enough recently, combined with all the other requirements, like cost. I work in the show industry, building things and installing things and we do E3 and Game Developers each year so I have had a chance to try some of this stuff as it developed. I can’t even imagine ten years from now, kids may never leave their room.
Assetto Corsa
Project CARS
DiRT Rally
Live for Speed
Not to mention all the other cool non driving games.

I should get an Oculus and make crazy games and environments for it.

Its already started, I’ve seen some wacky stuff at the show from small developers. They have a VR goat simulator...

I picked up a set of Google Cardbaord “for the kids”. Pretty impressive for a glorified View Master.

Yeah the floating lantern one is pretty cool. I want to play No Man’s Sky on the consumer Oculus. I think I’ll have to get a new computer to max out the potential.
