The 2008s are the least desirable year due to the old iDrive, taillights, and extremely rare but horrendous rod-bearing issue. However, the price is pretty good and the car appears to be in great shape.
They included a free car fax report and one thing that scares me is that the car has bounced between 3 owners in the last 2 years.
On the bright side, this is a BMW dealer that my family has done a lot of business in the past and I think they are pretty trustworthy and don’t sell crap.
Please share your opinions, especially those of you who own E9X M3s!

Blackline tailights mean it has been modified to an extent. Check the service schedule. The tailights might just mean he was an enthusiasts as thats a common forum mod. If you can afford it, get an 09 or newer as the 08 was first year, and the nav is horrendous too. Otherwise the interior looks really good considering the seat leather isn’t stretched to hell (completely normal) so they took good care of it. Hopefully they did double oil changes (every 7500 miles instead of 15). For the rod bearings I’d switch to 0w-40 oil (every 5k miles)
. Price is good but I’m sure you can negotiate it into the 2’s. Check if the ac is nice and strong, if not the evap could be leaking. Motor mounts are another issue at that many miles. Water pump will most likely go out between 60-80k miles too. Otherwise she looks pretty good if she passed the dealer inspection.

From the known service records, it looks like the oil was done approximate every 7-8k miles. Also, I have never used a navigation system in the past so a poor one isn’t even close to a deal breaker.

This looks like a good one. If everything drives alright, I would definitely do it. Check the battery too, if its the original one use it to negotiate as it’s ~$500 for a replacement. If its an aftermarket one, make sure it’s been programmed for the car. I wouldn’t be too worried about the amount of owners. This was most likely some weekend toy people had with those kind of miles so it shouldn’t be much of an issue.

I think the only real option here is to buy a blown Z4 and swap that V8 into it.
LIKE BMW SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
