When using craigslist be patient, it can take days to get a response. Futher explaination after the jump.
This is important to know because multipul times Ive made offers for rims, cars, ect and not gotten a response within the first few days. Later after spending my money on inferior items or less great deals I get responses for the item I wanted. This is very disappointing because I couldve been more patient, and the fault lies solely on me.
Example: Im making an attempt to get rid of my car so I search for rims/ tires that arnt bald, Some decent semi expensive rims w/ tires pop up. I offer $250 and dont get a responce. A few days later I drop $500 into a new set of tires, the very next day I get a responce saying that my offer would work for them. This has ruined my entire day. considereing how much money I make, it is supremely fucked, esspecially just to get rid of a car.
Ive proven to myself many many times that patience is of the upmost importance, Hope you dont make the same mistakes as me.

Sorry, but no. The fault lies squarely on the lazy people selling stuff on CL.
If you can’t be bothered to check your emails when selling something, then just give it away. It’s like everyone selling through CL can’t figure out how to use a computer. It’s not difficult to have access to an email address these days. And if you know you will have limited access or delayed response times then say so in your ad.

Very true, but waiting wouldve gotten me a v6 maxima instead of an auto civic, waiting wouldve saved me $250 that couldve gone to re-uping regestration, ect.
The best part of this particular experiance was it was through text.

So, when buying through CL, one should wait forever until the seller finally responds?
I’m not saying what have dealt with doesn’t suck. Only that people are far too lazy when selling on CL. And it doesn’t take any effort to set expectations for response times

Been there myself a few times. I call it trigger happy knee-jerk purchases. Oh.. the money I could have saved with patience. Oh well... lesson learned and well practiced anymore.
