Just bought this little Nishiki from the local bike shop for $90. It looks a bit rough but it shifts well and has all new wires. Rides like a damn steam roller compared to my aluminum Allez! I really like it, I think it will do great as my daily driver when I’m at LSU!

Isn’t it too muggy to be biking in louisiana?

During the height of the summer yeah. During the spring and fall it’s very nice. Also it’s geared for easy riding and so you don’t really have to put much output to go anywhere if you’re ok with not going fast. Also the ride to the school is pretty much completely flat.

That’s on 27-inch wheels, right? Pretty sure my uncle has a similar model, I’ve put several hundreds of miles on it over the years, they’re really nice rides.

I kid you not when I say it rides like a steamroller, damn thing ignores bumps in the road! Also it’s really nice to be able to brake when your hands are in the mjddle of the bars!

Nice! Old road bikes for the win. I DD a huffy from the early 80s I got for free when I’m away. So. Much. Weight.

Yeah! I think this thing easily weights twice what my Carbon/Aluminum Allez weighs. Thankfully almost my entire commute to school is flat!

It’s a mix of Shimano 105, 600 and suntour shifters

nice bike! Steel frames for the win. They ride so nicely. I have a Fuji from 1982 that I fixed up. They are so easy to cruise around on. Do you still have steel wheels? How are the brakes?
