Today we have dozens of opulent super cars, with the likes of Bugattis, Koenigseggs, Paganis, Ferraris, McLarens and Lamborghinis trying to one up each other every year. One other point in history can match today for the number of ritzy machines, and that’s the few years preceding the start of the Second World War. The elegant lines, grand proportions, and massive engines of these cars have put them in another league when compared to modern vehicles, in many ways these cars have yet to be topped.

The Duesenberg engines were DECADES ahead of their time. DOHC, 4-valve, 60HP/L and from what Jay Leno says, they’re “bulletproof”. You wouldn’t see that as commonplace until the late 90’s
