Just had this run into my feed. The good news is that it still sounds like a 911, even if its a smaller displacement turbo’ed 6. And whoa, there is a brief appearance by a 981 in there too - that’s what I’d really like to hear, if its got the turbo 4.

how credible is this? is that the current 991 Turbo body?
for some reason i dont think porsche is going to keep the Turbo’s rear fender intercooler vents on the standard carreras, even if they are turbocharged.
and if this is the current Turbo body, and we’re only getting the sound of the new smaller displacement 6 from this video, why do they distract us with that dramatic music and the camera shutter noise!

This is old news actually. Spy picks of those cars were had a couple months back. Quite honestly, they sound like crap. It’s gonna sound like the current turbo models: fucking vacuum cleaners.
It hardly sounds different between regular and sport +.
It’s okay. I hardly think of the 991 as an actual 911 anyways. 911 in design, but not in traditional spirit. I’m glad I can’t ever afford a 991 forever.
The next Cayman and Boxster will sound just as bad.
THANKS OBAMA AND TREE HUGGERS!! DEPRECIATING USED MARKET, COME FORTH!!

This certainly does not have the front rear fender inlet of the turbo. And as for those silly music and shutter tweaks, young production staff have to show some added value, even if its not!

I’d seen the earlier pics, but never heard the engine in a drive by before. And I was relieved.

Very credible. These are the 991.2 test cars spotted a couple months back in March or so. Notice the lower rear bumpers and diffusers:
The reason we’re getting crappy music and dramatic crap? Because TFL.

If it sounds like the current turbo, I’m not relieved one bit. I’m very disappointed.

Well done! Indeed there are three cars. The Boxster variant, and a 911 whatever with red brakes and no rear fender inlet, and the ceramic (yellow) braked version you posted that does have the inlet. So a Boxster, a 911 and a Turbo, or whatever they will call the Turbo once all the Porsches are turbos... :)

So the Carrera/Carrera S models are switching to a more centrally mounted exhaust tip setup? Interesting.

There was a video somewhere of a Cayman test mule lapping the ‘Ring. Did not sound like a six.

Yes, the spy shots and reports suggest that they are moving to a more center exhaust. I’m curious as to how the muffler packaging will change, if at all.

I don’t like the way it sounds.
