Another rejection letter came today. I’m starting to think I’m gonna be stuck selling cars forever. I was going to try to get my certs this summer, but I don’t want to a waste the money if it won’t change anything...

I’ve been applying to hundreds of jobs and I get several rejection emails a week. Just keep at it.

Maybe find someone you know who works in your interested field?

That’s why I’m taking this one hard. I have a buddy that works there. I thought this was on lock.

I know the feeling - $40K education with a B.A. and a B.Ed and I am still living at home and don’t have a full-time job....my non-summer months consist of sub-teaching, which is random and sometimes sporadic (education government budget cuts don’t help) and working at the local Tim Hortons.....which I have worked at since I was at High School on and off....and I am 28 now....pretty embarrassing and depressing. I can’t even get my own apartment because the subbing is random enough I can’t guarantee I’d get the hours to make enough for rent.

Good stuff. I’ve used cbt nuggets a ton. Have you broken out gns3 and got a lab set up? There’s another cbt company I’m not remembering that’s way cheaper than the Nuggets. They advertise on Steve Gibsons podcast, but never seen it, but they do free when they are recording.

I have done neither Yet. I was referred to Professor Messor. Any experience with that?

I applied to 280 before I got this most recent job. I’ve wanted teaching work in Denmark or Britain since at least 2011. Hang in there. Getting extra stuff sometimes just makes you feel good.

If they thought it was too they might be extra dedicated to finding you something. Use all your friends, family, acquaintances, and your spouse’s.

Get used to it, life aint easy. I called over 300 places looking to get into an architectural office. At first I was picky and went after the offices I wanted. After a week and 60 or so attempts I went to the to of the list, started with A and went thru Z with maybe 3 ‘eh we’ll look at ur resume’ but nothing good. One day I was driving home and saw a truck with a companies name on it, looked up there website, liked what I saw and called. He was mildly impressed with my story so he gave me some part time work. Then one day I was getting lunch and found a place I had tried but they hadn;t even answer the phone. I walked in with a resume. the guy just happened to be getting busy, was impressed I had the balls to just walk in and offered me a job the next week. Don;t get discouraged. Something could just come out of nowhere. Meanwhile my cousin applies to one place and gets hire..... bastard.

That sucks man. I’ve seen a few of your posts about your job hunt. I don’t know if this will help but I hope you find a job of your liking soon man. I know that feeling very well (job hunting right now too and couldn’t even get in the mood to enjoy my vacation with the family).

Get them. They look very good on a resume and will open up more doors.

Japan. It’s pretty fun, I’ll admit, but I’ll still have to come home eventually. It’s not permanant either.

I’ve thought about going elsewhere, but I’m not as good with picking up other languauges, (especially one as complex as Japanese or Chinese) so I am not sure how I would fare...

I would consider an international school somewhere then. Teach rich kids in English.
