"Logansteno: Bought a VW?" (logansteno)

My key is getting pretty worn down and is having issues unlocking my doors. So I went to the BMW dealer to get a price for a new one. $80 for a new, coded key isn’t bad at all from a dealer.
I’m damn happy I don’t have a key with built in lock buttons because that would be damn expensive.
Oh yeah, and my back fender is doing a thing. -__-
Time to start looking at body shops I guess.

Bondo pop. Judging from the quality of the repair that is visible, that isn’t going to be pretty.

$80? Might as well be free. Lost one of my Cayman keys. IIRC, $375.

Grreeaaatt.
The paint right there always looked a bit weird to me but I always ruled it to someone's bad paint repair, not body repair!

Only BMW owners would think $80 for a replacement key is reasonable.

We have an incredibly similar keyring.
Also, you literally cannot get the one with the remote on the key. I have the remote locking system on the E34, but it is impossible to get the remote.

That is a super, cheap price for that type of key with a transponder. They take a special machine to produce.
If only EssExTee could be so grossly incandescent

$200 expensive to be exact. I know because I’m in the same boat as you, except I DO have the remote.
