It is worth at least the asking price

I think he’s right. Maybe even more. Way more. Who wouldn’t want to own this one? No matter how much is needed to get it running again. It’s a steal.

The blue decals seem to be prone to go bad. Here’s a slightly better looking example.

It’s probably quite original but the wheels are incorrect and the rear-end might have been lifted.

I think that those wheels suit it better than the original ones.

I like my muscle cars a little rough around the edges.

Me too. I even have old bullet holes in mine. No worries about parking lot incidents...

I haven’t got new pictures as I have now pushed it into my (dark) garage and started disassembling it for the rust repairs (floor under the seats has really big holes). Here’s a picture when I bought it.

It’s going to get a single body color but I’m going to keep the dents and bullet holes. The mismatching body color would cause me problems during inspection as here changed parts are calculated (yes, this is very stupid) and a single color keeps the fact that they aren’t original parts less obvious. There are actually parts from at least seven different cars.

And if it has a single body color then it doesn’t look totally like a Roadkill ripoff...

What do you mean by calculated?

Here we calculate the swapped parts in percentages. The whole car is 100%. The body is 58%, engine 14%, driveline 8%, suspension 8%, interior 4% and so on. Removed parts cannot be put back anymore to get the percentage up. Usually the “changed parts hunt” is done if some major modification is verified during the inspection. Annoying vehicle inspectors might also deduct parts if they decided that they have been swapped. Brakes and steering gear can currently be swapped without changes in the percentages.

If more than 50% has been changed it’s “game over” as then the car will be seen as a new car and will need to fulfill all technical regulations of a new car and the taxes for a new car have to paid.

Wow, that seems incredibly stupid.

Let me guess, Australia?

No, in Finland. We have plenty of restrictions but at least we can still mess with the cars quite much. Sweden and UK have a lot more relaxed rules but many European countries prohibit messing with cars (legally) quite effectively.
