Too sappy? Or the right amount of emotion? I honestly think it’s a great ad, but maybe because it’s just the right sentiment I think the public needs to see right now. And, the new Miata is the perfect place to present Mazda and a “For Life” brand. Would love for you all to chime in

I can dig it.

Mazda and Subaru have their marketing game down. They are small car companies that understand how to focus their message. Unlike GM who is trying to appeal to everyone with the, “I can’t believe this is a Chevy and not a BMW!” garbage.
There is something to be said for knowing your target market and keep them coming back.

As a 16 year old, this is kinda funny.
16, wide eyes - Nahh, I’m still pretty tired right now
Drivers license, took two tries - Nope, took me one try
First drive, vast living - My first drive was actually a tad scary
Hit the garage door, was forgiven - Never have, hopefully never will
Bought a roadster second-hand - Umm...no.
Playing parties with the band - Only one that applies to me
Showing off on the strip - Showing off...at grandmas house.
End of summer road trip - End of summer doing nothing!
Late for curfew - Yes but nothing I can do about it
Speeding ticket - Never have, hopefully never will
Loaded up, off to state - I have oodles more cargo space than him!
Late night, big sky - This one ain’t bad
A passenger with green eyes - Ehh I think brown eyes are more attractive
Starter, midsize - I’m already full-size!
Family cruis- NOPE NOPE NO KIDS NEVER NOPE NO KIDS NEVER
A sing along of her choosing - Only if she likes alternate rock
Now in the garage, something new, to remind you of when you...were you. - Hopefully the muscle car will survive until 2040

Par for the course, I feel. The constant associating between vehicles and important memories, brand loyalty, fuzzies, lerv, etc.

The Chevy ads might take the cake for most annoying ad campaign in recent memory.

I think it’s good. Really hits home with the history we have with our cars at different stages of life.

Meh, they’re a bit too sappy in my opinion. I get what they’re going for, but I think they tried a little too hard.
With that being said, its better than most of the other ads out there (with the exception of Dodge). Especially the bullshit stuff coming from GM right now (and that’s coming from a diehard GM guy).

They tempt me to take the RAV4 and the FR-S to a Mazda dealer and swap for a CX-5 and a Miata.

Yeah, it’s not good, but it’s not bad. I think they should have advertised the cup car, and then said you can get a dd too.

The Infiniti ads are pretty dumb too for the Q50. The first ads were the guy driving absent minded while the Driver Aids saved his ass like 3 different times.
Now the ads say something like “If you are looking for a car that drives for you, it’s not the Q50”. Like wtf

I think it was well done. Message was clear.
