Like I think the owner either forgot to tell me he upgraded the engine or it is finally getting the 20 years of like gook out of the engine.
It decided to rocket from like 0-80 fairly quick and I looked it up where I was doing it it was about .3 miles and it’s acting like it’s brand new which is amazing.
It’s crazy but I think it could go faster if I did a real launch but I don’t wanna break anything...

..or maybe it’s just well kept. you’ll never know what a well maintained engine can do.
and to be sure, get a GPS speed-based timer to get the launch times.

Ya, but with the car being as old as it is its cig port doesn’t work as a charger just a cig lighter.

Try a real launch! Chances are, nothing will be broken.

DO A REAL LAUNCH! And post a video please.
If something does happen to break, you can replace it and the car will come back even stronger next time.

to me, ‘age’ means nothing. it’s more dependant on how much it’s been used versus the maintenance done.

True and we had the trans spiffed up as well recently because....it had never had ANYTHING CHANGED like fluid from 73, seals from 73 and they just wore out this year.

Lemme get a new camera first and that would be a blast haha
I was in KC last weekend and wanted to hit you up but was too damn busy doing family stuff. I think I’ll be back in a month or so, and if I’m free, we can definitely meet up!

Same fluid SINCE ‘73? if the engine has been rebuilt, or atleast removed from the engine bay, it more than likely needed the transmission to be emptied of fluid too, especially an auto, since torque converters function with fluid pressure.
