Long story short, I was caught in a pretty massive !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . My softtop was punctured in a few places around the rear window. Apparently there is quite a bit of hail damage on the body of the car (I seriously can’t see it on the dark Emerald Mica paint) and my insurance has decided to total the car.

WHICH gives me the perfect !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! donor. LSD, VVT, and Ohlins coilovers are already on the car. So while I save up for the rest of the Exocet (my insurance payout was pretty decent), I’m going to continue driving the Miata. But rather than replacing the softtop, I just want to pop a hardtop on the car until the Exocet gets here, then I’ll sell the hardtop again.

ANYWAY, is anyone looking to sell their hardtop in the Colorado area? Not looking to low-ball anyone, we all know what these hardtops are worth. Thanks!

You are currently living the dream. I am multiple shades of green with envy. An Exocet is one of my dream vehicles.

1. Go to Home Depot.

2. Buy some tiles and grout.

3. Buy some wood and nails along with a tarp.

4. Nail the wood to the pre existing hard top, or make your own!

5. Finish and grout the wood, make sure to score it evenly.

6. Tile the roof.

7. Hardtop, there ya go. You’re welcome.

I’ve had my eye on the Exocet for a long time, but I always figured I’d end up buying a cheap NA as a donor. Not anymore!!

Speaking of green though, I want to get the Exocet chassis painted the same Emerald Mica as my NB. Carry the torch!

I emailed the picture-less listing yesterday, but I didn’t see that black plastidipped one. Thanks!

That’s a green color? Wow, I bet that’s beautiful.

Yes, it is very beautiful. It has gold metallic flake in the paint, which you can see just below the headlight here:

And here’s a not-very-good close-up of the paint:

I love it. I bet it gets really dirty really quick, though.
