A blue Peugeot 407 coupé like this. I had forgotten that they even existed.
The one in the picture is one of the few Peugeots to have used the Peugeot/Ford V6 diesel. Ford themselves never used it under their own name but continue to sell it to JLR for the XF, XJ, Discovery and Range Rover.

This car has a truly ridiculous front overhang for its size. Looks-wise the 406 coupe is much nicer.

Holy overhang batman!

While not as bad in real life (including perceived front overhang), this car was a true letdown compared to its predecessor.

What is this ugly shitbox behind it! That thing looks horrible.

It really is a shame what Peugeot did back in its x07 era. The 406 is a thing of beauty, and a well engineered highly reliable one at that. The 407 coupe, well, it has its angles. Let’s just say I won’t be replacing my 406 with a 407 when the time comes to retire the 406. I’ll probably enjoy the 406 for a while though, it’s merely at 250k km now and I drive it about 20-30k a year, meaning it can probably last three quarters to a full decade more of my abuse.

Probably a good thing that its rarely seen. Especially given its predecessor.

Citroen Xsara Picasso.
Perhaps the PT cruiser of Europe?

Citroen Picasso. Cheap and quite popular at the time. There’s a less popular new model out now.

They’re even more rarely seen though due to the passage of time.

They are? I most certainly see more of those than of the 407 coupe. Sales numbers of the 406 coupe were far higher if I’m not mistaken.

They’re practical, cheap, rational and, well, shitty. The PT was just horribly shitty. Retro shitty.

The 406 coupé was sold from 1997 to 2003 so coupés being what they are it would have sold for about two years and then tapered off just like the later RCZ.
Most of the survivors would therefore be more than fifteen years old at this stage and we don’t often keep cars on the road that long (even though my own car is 1994...)

I suppose the logical next step with the shark face was to give it gills.

Styled to look like a pregnant womans womb. Seriously.

Very true. Unreliable retro shitty.
