So the Jeep WK was almost ready for sale, just finished getting paint on the fenders where they were surface rusting, and all the dings pulled out of the bumpers and those painted, cleaned and waxed it, then I get home from a relaxing weekend off the grid to this. No note, no mention of someone responsible. This nightmare will not end. I was putting new tires on it today and it would have been ready for sale. My faith in humanity is not great at the moment
This is not the first time this has happened to me in this town either. This one I found out who did it and the cops still didnt do shit

1) Get a nice heat gun or hair drier, use some plastic handled screwdrivers, and gently massage the dent out as best you can using the handle ends while applying some heat
2) If that is a factory paint, get a duplicolor can and tape it off with painters tape and news paper. Sand it down, quick coat of primer, and no more than a can of the paint will be needed
3) Blend the edges with a buffing wheel (or by hand if you have all weekend) once it’s dried to mask the edges
4) Clearcoat
Total cost is about 50$ for primer, paint, clean buffing wheel pad, and some assorted compounds and sandpapers.

Cops are the worst when it comes to hit and runs.

Ah, gotcha. Well once you finish it, store it in a secret locked garage and never let it see the sunlight until you get a buyer

What a fucking tool.
I’d suggest tar and feathering, Chinese water torture, waterboarding and then pip bib’s suggestion.

I live in a very narrow street, so narrow, that if you really have to pass through, you have to do it with one wheel on the sidewalk. No kidding. So it’s no wonder, that i had wing mirror snapped off, twice. First on a 1992 Honda Accord, right after we moved in. I went to a specialist boneyard, got a new item for not that much, three screws out, electric connector out, new mirrors’ connector in, and the three screws in, that’s it.
Second time though, it was my 1989 Audi 100, maybe a year later. Also, this time, i got the number plate of the perpetrator. So I called the cops, they investigated - took about 5 minutes - got the plate number from me, and buggered off. I thought no more about it, got a replacement mirror from a specialist boneyard, for exactly the same amount of HUF (used, this time) took almost two hours to swap (idiot Germans have the electrical connector of the mirror not up where it screws on, but way down behind the steel door panel). So i was telling everyone how I hated that stupid Audi, when the cops called, that they found my guy, and that he pleaded guilty. Oh whoa, that’s new. So I asked what next, they told me he got a fine for the hit and run (roughly 2/3rd of the cost of my replacement mirror). Ok, so where do I get my money, oh no, they said, that’s a fine , if i want the guy to pay me, I have to go and get it from him.
Wait what?
No, I never even called him. And never again parked in front of our apartment block either.

I’m not sure if it is regional, but this kind of stuff happened to me constantly in Salt Lake City. It was very rare in Los Angeles and San Diego, except in the sketchiest parts of town (people in SoCal live and die by their cars, so people respect them more, at least that is my theory). This sucks so bad and happens so often.
I once had someone leave a huge gash in my door, got the plate number, and even though they found matching paint from both cars on the doors of the other, they refused to do anything.
Cops: Criminals, every single one of them.

Let’s be fair, bunkers are useful for all kinds of things. Except Willie Mays rookie cards - unless you’ve got moisture 100% under control.

It’s time to put that property of yours to good use. Also: decoy cars with radiation paint so a hit-and-runner can be spotted (and nuked) from orbit.
Off-topic but possibly interesting anecdote: a guy down the road from my Magnum-driving father in law not only uses a Renault Espace diesel as a tow vehicle, he recently acquired a pristine looking 1980s Merc W124 with the green interior you so lust after. My brother in law went on and own how he found the interior so incredibly ugly (he drives a 2001 Hyundai Coupe with blue interior lighting while being a doctor). The car itself is a sedan though, and a white one at that. I don’t remember the transmission. No pictures, sorry.
