A man stuffed a V8 in a motorcycle, whose design would later go on to inspire aircraft engines, to become the “Fastest man in the world” in 1911.

The video is of the aircraft V8 derivative and my mind is struggling to imagine a similar engine in a motorcycle.

It’s quite a beautiful motor, but it was considered unreliable due to having only one ignition system in an era where ignition reliability was insured by having multiple ignition systems.
