I was wondering if anybody sold the body panels of OEM B5.5 Audi RS4 body panels to be installed on B5.5 Passats.
I just had the crazy idea and was wondering if it’s possible. And if somebody sells a conversion kit to do this.

That’s a little bit too nutty for my tastes.
I’ve got a B5 A4 Sedan and doing that would probably be a stretch because of the difference in the physical engine size.

I thought the Passat and 4-series shared the same body/structure/unibody...
Not gonna lie, a B5.5 RS4 body kit would be so awesome, because that's pretty much my favorite gen.

Much more likely to fit a B5 S4. There’s definitely the possibility of building an S4 APB engine into the RS version, and the body panels should fit right up if one was so inclined, as the US S4 and EU RS4 were both of the B5 generation rather than the B5.5 gen.

Yeah, but the Rs4 is going to have a few things different. For instance, if I wanted to swap a 4.2 V8 into my A4, I couldn’t unless I made my own engine mounts.
It simply wouldn’t work.

I’m talking about replacing the panels, not the actual engine. I’m not that nuts.

Hack the boot off, make a hard-cover, turn it into a covered pickup. Probably easier than actually grafting on a wagon bum, and is unique!

And ugly.
And that’d require way more interior work than it’s even remotely worth.

Yeah. :(
