Why can't all the cars I like be in the same place?

So here’s my conundrum. The above car, a 2002 with 35k miles, is in Dallas; 9.5 hours away. It’s got an excellent color combination and... interesting black chrome wheels. (Even though buying it would firmly establish me as a RED person, given I have a red car, red truck, red motorcycle, and helped sway the vote for a red Slingshot. I don’t even particularly like red.)

I would probably have to get the wheels painted something else, though. That chrome just looks plasticy to me.

This poorly-photographed specimen is in Phoenix, 7.5 hours away. It’s a 2001 with 50,000 miles, but it’s the cheapest of the three (5k less than red, 10k less than silver)

I’m not sure about the grey interior, but I do like the white-faced gauges. (#notracistbut)

And this car, in boring silver (Böringsilber as the Germans called it) but with an interesting, subtly blue interior, and the most recent year (and highest price) ended up in Colorado Springs 32k miles after its 2003 model year, a relatively brief 4.5 hour drive. The main downside besides the price is the Sport seats, which by reputation are similar to the FoST’s recaros, except they’re uncomfortable for even more people.

My impulse is to check out the red one first. I like how it looks the best, it’s the best combination of condition/price (ostensibly- will definitely be getting an independent inspection). Of course, I can get to C. Springs, check out the car, and get back in the same day. Gilbert or Dallas would require a two-day trip at least, three if I’m not insane.

The Silver car’s appeal is that some primitive part of my brain says more money = better car. That assumes it’s being sold for what it’s worth, which is far from guaranteed.

Meanwhile, the Blue car is being sold by owner, rather than a dealer. That’s a plus, according to some people.

Mostly, though, I’m just grumpy that no one is selling these cars where I actually live, or at least all clustered together.

Take a short flight, have a road trip on the way back.

Not seeing the problem. You know, beside the whole TSA fondling your balls and laughing at your naked body thing. That part kinda sucks.

I hate flying. 1000 miles is my threshold on drive vs. fly, and even then I’d rather drive 70% of the time. For me it’s more the hassle and time spent doing nothing rather than the usually brief and uneventful security measures.

If I were to purchase one and not trade in my current car for it, I’d probably fly out, yes.

That’s ok, it looks like it’s orange.

I have to assume that’s a trick of the lighting, as it’s (claimed to be) Guards Red, which is a very red red.

...beside the whole TSA fondling your balls and laughing at your naked body thing.

Some people pay good money for that type of action.

Red one looks awesome. Not understated at all. I’ve seen that style of rim finish before I think. I liked it.

I see this interior, and I smell my car’s interior because of the color. They are actually almost the same, as what’s in that photo, this one is a bit red-biased:
