I’ve had my rental Challenger Scat Pack for 4 hours now. Here’s some thoughts:
V8s are the best. It sounds incredible.
Acceleration is good, but not great. It’s very fast, but it’s so big that it doesn’t feel as fast as it is. It’s hard to describe.
It’s big. Really big. But it’s actually not a problem. It feels a heavy in corners, but it handles better than I though. Maneuvering around parking lots is a little unnerving
Forward visibility is okay. Side visibility is okay. Rear visibility isn’t good. Blind spots? Good luck. This is what it looks like when you glance over your shoulder:
6th gear is super long. Not a lot of passing power, though it’s certainly capable. Fifth gear though? Goodnight...it pulls.
The cabin is nice. The seats are okay, reasonably comfortable but cloth feels cheap. Adjustable lumber support is nice. The UConnect system is...okay? I haven’t messed with it too much. The screen is big and clear and the screen between the gauges is nice. The gauges themselves are terrible.
I hate the steering wheel and signal stalk. They are the only things I truly dislike about this car so far. The spokes are far too wide at the 9-3 position. I don’t have particularly big hands so I feel like I’m just palming it. The buttons for cruise control and the center display should be like half the size they are. The Chrysler rear radio buttons are okay, but I would prefer a layout like my Sonic.
The shifter itself is great. Notchy, perfect throws. Clutch is fine too, though the grab point is pretty high. Pedals are really big and too far apart for me to heel toe well (though I’m shitty at heel toeing anyways). I don’t like that the parking brake is a pedal, I’d prefer a lever or an electric one
Overall I’m liking it. A lot. The sound and power are intoxicating and I haven’t stopped smiling. I’m pretty sure most people think it’s a Hellcat, which is funny.
I’m taking a break for now to catch a movie, but I’ll report more as the weekend goes on. If you have any questions let me know.
Oh, and firehouse gave me a card for a free sub when I stopped for dinner. They thought I was waiting a long time, I didn't think I was. This weekend is off to a fantastic start!

Give us lots of updates. I don't know what it is about the big body dodge, I'm usually a euro guy but I really like them. It's not the best pony car but I'd take one over a mustang/Camaro.

I would hate to have a blind spot that giant. And I thought the Cadillac SRX was bad.

Set your side mirrors up right, and trust them.

I did, but my habit is to check over the shoulder. It’s a bit unnerving to look back and go ‘NOPE’

It's a very good highway cruiser, but I think I'd be hard pressed to take it over a Camaro

Can confirm the blind spots, the quarter windows are near useless ‘cause the headrest blocks them.

It’s a stick and has the pedal parking brake? What could possibly go wrong? (this really depends on how close together they are)

I honestly like the challenger over mustang and camaro because it doesn't beat you up on the highway. I drove a non hellcat srt manual and a scat pack auto and found that if I could live with 17 mpg and premium gas I would want one yesterday.
