After the partnership announcement, the press keeps bringing us all sorts of news about joint projects, from crossovers to hybrids and coupues. But that’s small talk...
As you know, Mazda engineers repeatedly announced their wish to move the brand towards mostly RWD.
Lexus has RWD platforms but they’re plagued by weight(heaviest in class in some cases, even if the GS F is lighter than the M5).
Here comes the light bulb . A joint task team of engineers, from Lexus and Mazda, should be formed. With the sole purpose of developing an advanced, modular, perfectly balanced, lightweight RWD platform that will underpin most of the upcoming Mazda and Lexus vehicles.
The possibilities are endless.

I just want an AWD Mazdaspeed 6. That sedan looks too god damn good (inside and out) to not have way more power pumping through all 4 wheels.

Exactly what I've been waiting for as well. Give me a faster, awd 6, and all my possible choices for my next vehicle no longer matter, I'd put money down on one before even driving it (considering how good the 6 is)

Seriously. In 3-5 years I have no idea what I would want for my next vehicle. AWD Mazdaspeed 6? Welp, that decision would already be made.

Take the RX8, update styling, put a Toyota V6 as a base option and the ISF V8 as a premium option in there. Win the GT/Pony Car wars.
