Well, we got one strut in. The other is being a trolling asshole.
(New strut vs old strut above.)
We can’t get this last strut out because the camber adjusting bolt is rounded. I could use a blow torch, if I had one...This was also the only day friends could help me out. So I’m on my own before Saturday, when I need it done.
(Top is old strut stance, bottom is new strut stance.)
I could try going at it from the nut on the other side of the bolt, but that would mean I would have to remove the caliper, which also has seized bolts....I’m kinda out of options at this point, aside from trying a blow torch.

Is the Camber bolt is already trashed?
Yeah, it does sound like you need Heat. A good Supply House MAPP torch would work but there’s a cash outlay.
Stay away from the cheap Propane torches. They’re just glorified Cigar lighters.

More money I didn’t want to spend, I guess I don’t have a choice now...What’s a cash outlay? And what’s wrong with propane torches compared to the MAPP ones? I also considered getting the heat gun I already have, but I reckon it wouldn’t be hot enough. Also, with the bolt being rounded, I don’t know how I’d get it off even if I heated it up.

Something similar happened to my S80. After a couple weeks of experimenting, a hack saw and a few blades fixed the problem

In this case, I can’t afford to hack off the bolt. I need it to be reused as stupid as it sounds.

Mapp burns hotter than Propane.
A good Mapp “TurboTorch” is around $60 plus the tank. You can use Propane but, sorry Hank, it’s not as good.
It’s a Plumbers tool that should be in every Gearhead’s toolbox.

Go to a hardware store, should be something like 80 cents to replace

This isn’t a run-of-the-mill bolt. Its part of a $30 strut bolt kit that requires you buy the whole kit to get the bolt because it isn’t sold separately. And it’s got a specific part number as well, it won’t be found in a Home Depot or regular hardware store.

True Value would most likely have something close enough

Chop it off or burn it off with something. You will destroy the bolt in process no matter what you do. You could try easy outs but they probaly will break to. Once its out take it to a hardware store and get bolt same length and pitch and reinstal

Seems like the bolt kit will be less than a torch

I already got the MAPP torch this morning and got the nut holding the bolt in place free. But the eccentric washer is being an ass now. Once that's free, I can get the bolt out and put the new strut in.

I’m having a similar problem trying to get a small bolt out that’s holding a sensor on the back of the diff in the e36. The clearance between the back of the diff and the trunk is like 2-3 inches.
