And what a lovely color choice he made! Took a ride home from work with him and I really like this car for sure. Feels a lot more premium inside than I expected and has a very nice exhaust note. I’d say it pulls about the same as my miata on straight lines so it is plenty fast enough. Was only a 15 minute drive so I’ll definitely have to experience it some more. Only downside for me is that it’s an automatic and the infotainment screen looks like it’s 10 years old or more lol. But anyways, awesome car and even better color!

don’t let the “auto” put you off, the paddles suit it nicely, being able to keep both hands on the wheel while your carving up the twisty roads is very helpful for when the back end kicks out

Is that an aftermarket exhaust? The stock one doesn’t sound very good to me at all. A Nameless axle-back fixed that.

With a stick it definitely accelerates better than a Miata, but the automatic does slow it down a lot. It’s still not bad, and I had to seriously consider manual vs. automatic given the traffic on my commute. I went with a stick, but I hear the auto and paddle shifters are quite good, and give you better fuel economy than the stick.

Not that you get one of these cars for fuel economy...

It’s a stock exhaust. A little too quiet but it was nice when I could hear it. I believe they use sound piping into the cabin on the frs? Compared to his old car, a Civic, I enjoy the exhaust. Nothing compared to a v8 but it's nice for what it is.

Yeah its a lot nicer than old 4 speed autos or any cvt for sure. I’d have to drive both the manual and auto in that car to make a real judgement. I would definitely choose a manual though just because I enjoy working a clutch pedal. I am glad they did the auto well in this car though!

Yep, over 4000rpm the sound tube opens up and you get a lot more noise. All your highway cruising (unless you’re being a maniac) is below 4000, so there’s no drone. There are mods to open this full time, or eliminate it completely.

DiodeDynaimcs has great lighting options for the 86. These are my switchback turn signals and HID lights. The switchbacks eliminate that “fried egg” look of the turn signals.

I feel like I would regret it on the highway, but I would totally do the mod to keep it open all the time!
