For those who haven’t seen my other posts, I’m documenting the conversion of my Formula Ford to Honda power, used in the U.S. In this video we test-fit the new engine and cut out some pieces that are in the way.

Formula Fords are Hondas in the US?

Well... yes and no. In 2012 or 2013 Honda wanted to expand its grassroots programs so they struck a deal with the SCCA to allow the Honda Fit motor in Formula Ford. The only other engine allowed in the category (as far as I know) is the Kent engine, and right now the Fit is much more competitive. So if you’re racing at the national level you need the Honda engine.
