Chevy Cruze.
The Cruze’s interior is good enough, it also rides nice, and has a turbo. Plus, the infotainment system is great for pairing your phone over bluetooth and listening to pandora.
I just cant get over the latest exterior refresh but that doesn’t matter if it is a rental.

I like mechanical things better than artsy things. If you just follow all the steps and use a torque wrench everything will turn out fine. Body work takes too much finesse for me.
However, I do appreciate the hell out of the people who can do seamless repairs, and custom work really is art to me.

Malibu or Impala, not Cruze.

yeah I understand that. I have taken a refinishing course at college and am planning on painting my car and I am learning the bodywork along the way. There is so much to it as you say that is artsy or finessey. So many grits to remember and details and stuff that I sometimes wonder If I am learning anything. What bothers me most is how long it takes!
I think some people think the same about mechanical repairs. Like people who say they aren’t mechanically inclined. Maybe after time it just becomes more natural as skills and experiences are picked up.

That I suppose would be the best outcome, especially if the rental place lets you pick the car.

Honestly I think I could only enjoy doing it if the results weren’t important. The cost of that luxury is way too high for me right now though.

The waifu ran her G35 over a curb, and in the interim our insurance is paying for a 2015 ATS 2.0T auto (lucky!). I adore it.*
Weirdly, I had on a test drive in a ‘15 Mustang GT auto earlier that day and really did not like it, despite how much I wanted to. My DD is an ‘09 WRX 5-speed, with middling mods, which turns out to be barely slower than the Mustang anyway (My best WRX 1/4 was 13.1).
*Result is not typical of rental cars. Your experience may vary.
