The Land Yacht just rolled a whole bunch of 7s on the cruise to get lunch today. With bonus tenths of a mile (that’s a decimal point in there).

Kinja'd!!!

She also pulled the best mileage I have seen yet, at 20.9 mpg. Not bad for a fairly powerful naturally-aspirated V8 that is still on the original coils, injectors, etc. So smooth, good handling, minimal body roll for something so plush (wallows bad in comparison to the ST, but so much smoother/quieter and better than the vast majority of cars on the road), etc. I still love this car.

Consecutive sevens are just so satisfying

My biggest odo regret was not photographing when my 5-digit odometer rolled over to 00000.0

All zeros would be so awesome. I take what I can get, though.

You’re the second LS owner on here. I’ve maybe seen a handful in my life personally.

A Lincoln LS a land yacht?

What kind of car are we discussing here?

Well, I wouldn’t call it a luxobarge. It was really the only thing that fit and is what people call it.

Compared to cars of today, it is also pretty big.

Or being driven by creepy assistant principals.

I have one. Just don’t consider it that category.

What do you consider yours?

A relatively cramped mid sized car with a firmish ride that gets 14 mpg.

Yeesh, what do you do to it? All stop-and-go city driving? The worst it has ever done for me was 17.

It’s also hardly cramped. My coworkers always want me to drive when I have it because we can pack five people in it more comfortably than any other car in the parking lot.

Oppo: Constantly off topic.

All city. Some idling.

If you have any questions or problems I can help. Been through practically every thing with mine.

The LS is a great car, I’ve owned 4 of them over the years. My ‘04 Sport was one of the best cars I’ve ever owned, but it was nearing 150k, so I sold it and bought a Saab. Funny thing is that the Saab is faster, more reliable and much easier to work on. I really miss the V8 noise and excellent chassis that the LS had, though.

Where did you find and LS (pre facelift, 00-03?) With only 27k on it?

Craigslist. The former owner was given the car with roughly 23.8k miles on it by the original owner, his elderly next-door neighbor (confirmed; custom-ordered, one of the first delivered in January ‘00), along with records of every single thing ever done to the car (all done at the dealer where he originally bought it). The car had just had the right-hand mirror replaced prior to being given to him after the original owner took it off hitting into his garage. This was when the first owner decided he should quit driving. The second owner drove it to ~25.9k. It was garage-kept the whole time.

Oh, I will, if this car ever goes that far and I live long enough. It’s not my primary car, so it probably gets about 50 miles a month...
