Drive a bit along the shoulder to gain speed, signal, and merge. Do not neglect to put your signal on and just turn on from a dead stop like you were paralell parked. You might almost destroy my Focus. Thank you.

Ha, I just did this earlier today. Unfortunately I had to slow to a near stop due to the death wobble. That said I had plenty of gap and nailed the throttle when I merged with plenty of room to spare.

Near misses are terrifying. Sorry to hear that you encountered someone who probably shouldn't have their license... they are common in my country (US). The test is a joke

Sucks, but at least its uncommon. I’d go for teaching using the ramp to accelerate/decelerate to/from highway speeds first.
