For those few of you that followed my post earlier about my job change. Here is an update. Today was supposed to be my last day. Just drove in the 30+ miles into work and they’re going to start the “exiting process”. Why not have just done that yesterday instead of having us all waste time? And then drive the 30+ back.

UPDATE: Despite me giving them notice they indicated that I have “burned my bridges” with them for discussing my salary and what they offered to give me to keep me. It was never discussed with me that any of that was confidential, furthermore it was already well known that they were looking into giving pay raises and that a lot of us were underpaid. Not that I had any intention of ever coming back.

You ask a common-sense question that if you just looked at it logically, this seems like a totally avoidable inconvenience.

But I’m sure they have some policy that says the exiting process needs to happen on your last day, and I’m also sure they give approximately 0.001% of a single shit how far you as a soon-to-be ex-employee have to drive.
