I’m gonna be Porsche-less for the next week. Dropped her off tonight at a shop to get her first REAL thorough inspection all around before a trip next weekend.

I say first real inspection, because I didn’t have one done that will be as extensive as this one, when I bought the car; I’m that crazy. Gonna have my belts retensioned, the suspension checked out, and anything else they find.

It’s gonna be weird having no Porsche at my house... ;_;

Nailed it! I’ve had an on and off with Munk over the last ten years. I had my 944 serviced there several times back in college, then sponsored my racecar for awhile, and am friends with some of the staff. Been to Munk’s alot so it looked pretty familiar.

Yup still around; Novi area. I bought my 944 at 19 as the first car I ever bought (my first car was a hand me down Accord) and then promptly discovered there is no such thing as a cheap Porsche. Over the course of ownership I dealt with every common 944 malady; timing belts, bearings, electrical gremlins, leaks, rust. I sold it two years ago when it became too much work and I had too little time to spare. It went to another local guy who planned to turn it into a Rallycross car.

Preaching right there. I’m 19, and mine is the first car I’ve ever bought with my own money. So far mine has been a blissful experience. Did my belts and rollers two months ago, cam tower gasket too. I hope they don’t find too much wrong if anything while they have it; I’m working on a college budget haha.

What do you do now, what do you drive? You're actually not to far from me, I'm in Southfield. Perhaps a meet sometime perhaps?

Totally understand the PCar ownership on the college budget. That’s the downside with Munk’s is that it is expensive.

I’ve got a truck and a racecar now so unfortunately no fun street cars for the time being. Although being a development engineer allows me to drive lots of interesting stuff home during the week. I’m almost always wrenching in the garage so maybe we can work something and you can stop by and check it out.

Gotta bite the bullet at somepoint right? I knew this was coming at somepoint, might as well get it out of the way while I’m capable of doing so and not later. :)

I’d love to see your racecar sometime, yes! Never seen one up close before I’m ashamed to say. I am going to school for engineering though, so there may be some common ground there. Let’s see what we can do; I know quite a few other Michigan Oppo’s so perhaps sometime in the summer, a Michigan Oppo meetup could be had?
