Le Mans has an open pitlane during the day for the tuesday, wednesday and thursday as all the track action takes place from 4pm onwards on these days. So I took the opportunity to wander around with my camera. Also some bonus shots from the interesting spots from the campsites.
The pitlane itself was very busy, lots of public taking the chance to see the cars undressed, and the paddock and Village area as it was described (shops, team hospitality areas etc) was very busy for the whole weekend.
Le Mans track action pictures should follow tomorrow fingers crossed.
Corvette kit car?
Shiny and Red. the cleanest this beast was all weekend.
Im a big fan of Krohn racing, I like that its just Tracy absolutely loves racing, so hes living the dream of what to do. Massive respect to the man.
Naked Porsche 919.
MURICA!
Most high tech race cars in the world. Wooden centre plank.
Umm, guys, where did we put the instruction book?
Shouldnt that be in the car?
Naked Nissan
Naked Audi.
Spot Leena Gade, (hint, shes on the left), race engineer for the #7 car, and tactical genius.
Arty
Hmm, yes, i like this art. this art is nice.
ESM cant advertise booze in france, so had this awesome Rolling Stone livery. Shame the green machines werent on show, but this was a pretty awesome compromise.
Bits of the Brand New BR01 LMP2. Supposedly this is the car that has caused the LMP2 regulations to be created..... so I will leave that there.
AF Corse numbering their parts. I presume this being AF Corse, that could well be their 2848th bumper used, I think they have over 150 458s of various racing specs being run.
the Colin!
Even the kerb lights have tear offs. Thats preparation.
I like carbon weave.
Nice to see this sentiment still echoed. #ForzaJules
Slightly more advanced than their three wheeler.
Very naked Alpine (Oreca 03R with a new badge)
Audi Safety crew. well a small part of the crew.
Lots of people out in the glorious sun.
This was in the officials car park. Stunning, and well used example.
No idea what engine was in this TT, but it sounded very much like the V10 from the R8.
Oh yeah, the LMP1-2 from Aston Martin was there. The noise caused yet another crisis....
Not bad for an ice cream company.
#JAGFIRE spotted.

Someday, I will be in one of those garages. I like the Krohn crew as well, I felt terrible for them as they had an unbelievably difficult race. Seems the car spent more time off track than on. Great stuff, thanks again for sharing!

Sadly it did seem like one of those races where Tracy couldn’t keep it on the track. He had more than a couple of spins, although to his credit, he didn’t cause any other drivers any strife which is more than can be said for some gentlemen drivers. Massive respect to the man though, he gets to go out and play with amazing cars because he can afford to, and I am glad he does, as he adds colour to the grid (literally)
When you are in one of those garages, let me in please :) ha.

All are wallpaper worthy, but think I’ll have to reserve the honor for the Audi R18 photos... Even if it’s rep is forever tarnished...
:D

Interesting comparison shots of the Corvette and Viper (Riley) garages vs. the Porsche and Audi garages: The ‘Actual Working Shop’ style with the American’s vs. ‘F1 Surgery Centre’ vibe that the Germans bring.
