!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
Ugly, pictures ironically taken at a “detail station,” manuel, and unassisted steering in a mid-engined package with popup headlamps that runs for really cheap. So it’s no MR2, but I bet it’s still a riot. I wish I had enough space to save all of the mid-engined 80s wedges.

The color is horrible but otherwise I like the ratty look.

Me too. It’s pure character.

The important thing to remember here is that with a moderate amount of machining, you can get the famous GM supercharged V6 in there.

V6s swaps are pretty easy with these since they were built to take one in the first place. I like the people squeezing Northstars in them. I know that the N*s get a ton of hate, but I think it’s really underrated and unfairly maligned.

They seem to be good engines when well-maintained. The nice thing is that either engine can be obtained pretty easily by buying any manner of available ratty Pontiacs or Cadillacs.

Yeah, there’s also a ton of potential that was never realized in those things. They’re really light and will safely rev to 8000 with just new valve springs to prevent valve float, which is insane for a 4+ L V8.

They do get alot of hate haha. Ive seen two in my shop this week with stupid issues.

Those things would of actually been pretty nice. But Iron duke and 2.8 were pretty terrible.

I love the Northstar and it’s smaller derivatives used in Oldsmobiles (the Shortstar and the 4.0L). I vote for a Shortstar swap. My dad had a Shortstar Intrigue it was lovely, efficient, smooth, and powerful.

Just offer him $500, take it to one auto cross and one rally cross. Then just drive it until it dies.

Or for slightly more machining, you can get a supercharged LS7 in there.
Or just a regular LS7.

If you get one, be careful. My brother had to learn how to walk again afer having been in a front end collision while driving his. they have the crash protection of a wadded up paper bag.

Wow, that sucks. If I were to get a Fiero, it would probably be for LeMons or as a throwaway rally car. Maybe both. I already have an AW11 MR2 which is even smaller, and umm, yeah. The safety is, well, nonexistent. At least the MR2 has three firewalls between me and the front bumper. I’m actually curious as to how well it will hold up in a crash. It’s really surprisingly overbuilt.
