Seriously, driving a Supercharged BRG Jag XK-R through the Hawaiian mountains has to be one of the most relaxing things you can do in any game ever. Even if it’s almost 8 years old, the graphics still look hella good, for what it is.

Forza Horizon is soothing when you drive a large GT car until some lil’ s*** AI hits you in his CRX.

It really is, although there was a reason for that, the handling model in that game was soo garbage.

Damn I miss this game so much. Modding community was amazing too. Then TDU2 sucked sooo bad, even though I beat the game.

I really wish they’d make a true successor to TDU1, good simulator-ish handling model, gorgeous scenery, great gameplay, great cars. Yeah, there’s Forza Horizon, but that’s Xbox-only.

The Crew was supposed to be that (it was made by a lot of TDU1’s creators) but I think that was a flop as well. Or I just didn’t pay attention to it since I didn’t like its idea.

Yeah, The Crew was more of a TDU2-2 then a TDU1-2, they managed to fuck up the handling AGAIN, really sucks.

TDU 1 and 2 were such missed opportunities... I fully believe if PD or T10 made the same game, it would be the greatest driving game of all time.

If I could start a gaming company I would so make a TDU3 of sorts. Time to go buy lottery tickets.

I spent so much time on that game... Crusing with friends, trying to beat some unbeatable challenge. I remember one which I think started in the hills over Honolulu, and you have to user the most powerful cars of the game, I spent so much time on jsut that one... Oh and the race around the island was pretty cool too, it took a good 40 minutes IIRC to do it.
I looooved that game, when it was released it was such an OVNI compared to what was made. Too bad they botched the sequel :/ At least Forza Horizon has kind of the idea.

I think the main issues with TDU1 came up later in life, with Eden shutting down all the multiplayer servers to persuade people to buy TDU2 and such.

Yeah, someone needs to yell at Playground to make a PC port of FH2.

I believe that was Atari’s decision, which has a lot to do with why so many Eden employees hated Atari and made their own company.

Between the atrocious handling and failure of online only gameplay, The Crew was my biggest waste of $60 in a while
