I’m pretty sure these running lights turn off when the blinker is on, which from a visibility standpoint is probably good, but bothers me immensly. Your running lights should always be symetrical.

I want the chrome grille outline to also be LEDs.

It looks WAY better in this picture than in real life. The LEDs at the bottom portion are brighter than everywhere else. It is problematic. But I guess it's better than not having them at all.

I suspect this is due to lighting regulations.

Agreed, that looks better than many LED setups. More bulbs = better. Makes the shape more well-defined.

thought i read that dot regs dont allow lights in between the headlights. thats why the mb star turns off when the car is moving.

They are ok looking in person. What bothers me is use of halogen bulbs instead of HIDs or even just projectors. And if only Honda can fix their shitty HondaLink system.......

You’re correct. There also has to be a separation between brake lights. That’s why cars like the new MKZ don’t illuminate the middle when you press the brakes.

THE lighting regulations.

I was referring to the part about the bottom being brighter than the top and how that would be linked to regulations.

What ever regulations currently ban laser lights or force some automakers to turn off their LED running light when the turn signal is activated.

LED’s have become styling elements. They are amazing. It should only continue. Imagine that, light as a part of design. I love it.

That wouldn't make the bottom brighter than the top though. If it did then every car would have to do that.
