I think an electric Versa sedan would make a great sedan version of the Leaf. Powertrain would need to be completely different, but it’s a compact, roomy sedan, and if it was electric, it could, maybe be 25 (before tax credits, etc.) As long as they don’t add clear taillights or make the badges blue (like so many carmakers do when they have hybrid or electric versions), it could be a hit.

They turned the Versa into a sedan, which is a visual atrocity. I don’t see the Leaf being any worse. Also: Yaris. And hell, the Audi A3 was sedanified for some reason, but I almost understand that because they were simply filling a hole left by the A4’s embiggening.

The rear isn’t bad. The front is detestable. I like the Leaf as a hatchback, and overall it isn’t a bad car.

I didn’t see the other pictures you posted when I was scrolling to click this article.
I was going to say, I’d be really interested to see how it would do but I can’t imagine it looking really nice if it attempts to stay in like the small sedan category.
Putting more batteries and more motors into the current Maxima though. That I can get behind.

My parent’s Leaf was in the shop today to replace a burnt out heated seat indicator. I saw the new Maxima there in white. It really looks better in person. Plus the interior is great.

I was watching a car review. I think it was Autoguide that did it on the new Maxima. It’s gorgeous. Especially when it’s blue over brown seats. (Love that combo recently, especially on the Charger Hellcat I saw.)
