While I don’t agree with what was said, if you are scared away by a handful of idiots and act like they control Oppo and even the FP, then I wish you luck, but you will not be missed. I and many others learned early on to not engage with them. Dismiss is your friend. Hell I made a comment about the HHR SS being an acronym for “homoHotRodSUper Sexy”. Aoparently the article that was made on got popular today coause I had more comments and stars. I dismissed most of them since it wasn’t worth it.

If you don’t want to deal with that then by all means, leave. But understand that after certain Oppos doing these sorts of posts all the time, I don’t believe you. EVen if it is true. And if it is? Then I view oppo as better off.......Just my opinion that probably isn’t right.

I would kill to find an HHR SS with the AA5 package aka Partial Panel

But they only made like 200 of these so I’ll end up with a regular one. I really want it because it’s something different and NOBODY on Oppo has one. Also I think I can get Mr. Regular’s attention if I have something out of the ordinary. I also like sleeping in my vehicles for no reason from time to time so this thing is perfect for it. It can even fit a twin sized air mattress in the back with the rear seats folded. Yep I need it in my life.

Just like to chime in with some HHR SS love too, always liked the concept and bodystyle. The SS, so Car & Driver tells me, was like $8000 more than the base model. Never had the pleasure of working a turbo Ecotech four with a manual but I’d guess it must be pretty nice. Power when you need it, economy when you don’t.

It’s no Camaro SS but it carries more shit than any other SS in history, probably. If you have a need for a boxy wagon - bikes, camping, surfboards, courier, tradesman - then I think this would be a nice ride to have.

I’ve honestly just liked boxy things. The original Scion XB. The main thing that keeps me from swinging for one of those is the lack of cruise control, that’s a requirement for any of my cars. I also like the Honda Element but those things hold value like S2000s. The HHR SS even had/has a GM sponsered stage one kit that upgrades output to 290HP/315lb-ft and it’ll have 0-60 in the mid 5 range. I think that’s nice enough. Also you can find these with the Sport Package between $10k-$12k rather easily so I feel it’s a solid deal.

Hard plastic throughout interiors don’t bother me much and neither do blind spots. Try driving a Sprinter delivery van. All I have is two windows and side-view mirrors. Another thing I like to do is tint my windows and since the HHR is “technically” categorized as a light truck that means I can tint my passenger and rear windows as dark as a I please.

I DD a Cobalt SS and it is really a nice car, and it is the same basic chassis and and same drivetrain as the HHR SS. Eats corners like nothing. Couple of things though: shocks and struts at 70k or it gets floaty. Also, the transmission that GM fixed to that 2.0, it’s max torque rating is the same as what the engine is putting out so they have been known to fail. Mine did last year and cost me like $2,800 US to put in a new one and that’s at my cost as a Chevy dealership employee.

TL/DR: fun car, great economy but there are just a couple maintenance issues to be aware of.

My family happens to have owned a 328i which when it was pretty loaded I’d consider it fancy. And it had an Auto. Which wasn’t that shitty. And M3s are just better 3s, so yours must be even more amazing.

There’s not a single conversation that you can get into that has no chance of ending up as an argument. I’m best friends with someone from high school and a conversation about lunch can end up into one about race, society and class. (I KNO RITE) and sometimes you just have to listen to their side of the argument and leave it alone. We’re all car people here and while we all enjoy the compliments for it, we also sometimes have to take the criticism.

Come back to Oppo, I don’t write enough on Oppo to be one of the regulars that are known for something or get brought up in conversations, but I’ll definitely notice if your posts are missing.
