Stock manifolds too. Imagine if I got the long tube headers that the mechanic was going to hook me up with, they didn’t fit in his Fox body so he offered them to me...damn column shift.

No problemo. I would have never thought that you had the stock manifolds on there! You could probably pick up a cheap pair of headers somewhere, but it already sounds badass.

Yeah with how loud it is now, I have no reason to add on headers. I sincerely thought about it but these flowmaster Super 44’s are so god damn epic and it sounds so good that I don’t want to play with it right now. Especially if i put cheap ones on, i don’t want it to sound “tinny” if you know what i mean.

Yeah and it wouldn’t add much performance and as of right now, nothing wrong with the stock manifolds.

I’ve got the engine pretty much where I want it to be now. If things break, I will upgrade them. Like the water pump was leaking so I upgraded to a SuperCool pump. I thought the heads needed replacement, as of right now they don’t, but if they did then I would upgrade them not replace with stock. I need to start focusing on the appearance portion of restoration now.

I gotcha. Good to hear that the heads are fine for now; I remember you saying they needed replacing a while ago. Focusing on other aspects is probably a good call. Besides, the aftermarket for a 302 isn’t going away anytime soon, so replacement parts will be available whenever you need/desire them.

YEP! I was leaning towards heads becuase I had white smoke/exhaust from the drivers side bank out the exhaust pipe. Turns out I had a bad seal with my old warped valve covers and it wasn’t firing well on that side because of it (as well as leaking oil) new valve covers, gaskets and bolts have cleared up the exhaust gas on that side so I think I’m ok right now.

And the small holes in the floor boards really need to get fixed.

it’s amazing looking under there now. I’ve wanted these Ford Racing valve covers for years.

It shouldn’t be too much to fix the floors. I don’t care about them being original replacement floor pans, i just want them fixed. They’ll have carpet over them and I have no interest in setting mirrors under my car at a car show lol.
