I remember this got a lot of attention when it was unveiled, but I had no idea it actually went into production.

I also had no idea it’s $260,000! Fascinating seeing this in between all the Ferraris and whatnot in the inventory list, haha!

Gee…would this mean that actually had this car crash-tested? Or does it not matter since it’s a Volvo C70 underneath, IIRC? The bodywork is so different you’d think it’d make a difference or something...

It looks like a puma? Or a warthog?

I remember this exact car once selling for $990,000 or something like that. Guess it didn’t work out.

I think there’s a red one and a silver one. Not sure about silver, but I’m almost positive that a red one exists, at least.

Kit cars don’t have to be crash tested, and as long as the manufacturer has a low enough volume (I don’t think that’s a problem here) they don’t have to go through all the testing.

From the ad:

This car is listed as a special construction vehicle on the title and there is no specific year listed.

So yeah, titled as a kit car.

Ooh, good catch!

Still, doesn’t California only allow a certain amount of kit cars to be registered per year? I remember reading people will line up at midnight on New Year’s Day at the DMV to make sure they get theirs. I can’t imagine a celebrity paying a quarter-million for this and then running the risk of not being able to drive it.

Nearly 100% sure it’s Photoshop. The black doesn’t shine like real paint would and look at how yellow the chrome wheels on the yellow one is

I’m probably wrong, but I think that’s the California Bureau of Auto Repair VIN, not the standard VIN most people think of which is longer. I think this is more for air-quality compliance.

Very interesting though that it says 1960 7L? Am I missing something? I thought it was a Volvo C70 underneath?

It’s not in production. AFAIK this is THE Youbian Puma.

Last time my roommate was in LA, he saw it sitting on the back lot for this dealership. It took him 20 minutes to regain his vision.
