It’s basically a modern Jensen FF, hell, even the name is the same.

Wait, there are people that don’t like the FF?

I love the FF. If I won the lottery I would be stopping at the Ferrari dealer on my way home to order an FF as a daily.

Lack of manual transmission, AWD Ferrari, et cetera et cetera.

Front mounted 6.3 V12, gated manual. Whats not to like?

Looks like it has the Mazda smile from last gen.
I don't care for modern Ferraris. I'd drive one. If I ever had the money I'd never buy one.

The only reason is the dumb AWD system. We want transfer cases!

Ferrari and wagon should never go together. Nor should Ferrari and SUV. Keep the company pure.

Because Ferrari is the corporate equivalent of a petulant, spoiled child, and the car looks like it got hit in the face with an axe? No manual or cloth seats? I got nothin’.

Forget about the FF. How about this beauty?
This is the 1972 Shooting Brake 365 GTB/4 Daytona. Incredible car ( more here ).
I believe it was up for auction recently.

It was available in the 612 (the FF’s predecessor) but not in a Ferrari V12 2+2 since then.

I for one love it. If I could afford one I would be getting it in Abu Dhabi blue and it would be my daily run about. I'm not even a big Ferarri guy, but then again that may be why I love them so. I would love to have this parked next to a purple Panamera Executive S.

The no cloth seats is my biggest gripe with any luxury car. It's weird that that's what I want but still. I would prefer something my dogs won't destroy as easily and something I can be lazy about cleaning. Or something like that.

how many transfer cases does the baja bug have?

None. Baja Bug doesn’t need the crutch of four driven wheels.

Except that it’s fugly as heck. The Jensen’s no Daytona, but it’s got a certain style.

Because the shape of this grille is awful and that front fender vent is BMW-levels of tacky.

This guy I know (drives a modded automatic 5.0 Mustang, swears by Top Gear, Etc - not the type of car guy I like), says they suck because they’re only in AWD until like 4th gear.
If I can get my 5-Cylinder Volvo to 100 in fourth gear, it really shouldn’t matter in the FF!

The way I remember is this: if the F1 (Ferrari term for paddle shift) transmission for that car was single clutch, a manual was also an option. If the F1 transmission is dual clutch, manual was not an option.

> sm70- why not Duesenberg?

An AWD car with two transmissions can’t really have a manual gearbox very easily. The front wheels are driven from a second, assistive gearbox from the front of the V12, not the main gearbox behind the V12, driving the rear wheels.

A bit too much of this:
I get the egg-crate grille, but the SHAPE is what kills it.
F12 isn’t much better, with a slight down turn at the corners of the demented toothy grin.
Ferrari California T is the slightly less ridiculous version, but still a bit odd.
F458 and 488 GTB aren’t exactly beauty queens, either, and this sort of stuff is why I am not that enamored with modern Ferraris of the latest generations, after 550/575M, and F430.
It is like Pininfarina is being run by art school professors that teach ‘different must equal good’, when in fact merely being different is more often *weird* than timelessly good design.
At least they got rid of those damn stupid void gaps inboard of F458’s headlights from the front bumper fascia purposefully mis-fitting the rest of the car.
