"Nymphicus Hollandicus" (nymhicus-hollandicus)

So I just read about the recent news that May and Hammond probably won’t renew their contracts with the BBC, so I thought about doing a “Cool Wall,” especially since I am very opinionated about cars. Pardon me if I’m acting too much like an orangutan, but I’d love for as many comments as possible (pin this post pretty please!!!!) because I’M BORED!
Here’s how it’ll work, just suggest me a car and I’ll rate it “Seriously Uncool,” “Uncool,” “Cool,” “Subzero,” etc. It can be as general as the manufacturer or as specific as the trim and engine. Your reasoning for why it belongs in said categories is welcome, but this is a dictatorship so it won’t matter. If you’re lucky I’ll agree with you, but most likely I’ll call you a moron (joking obviously) if you’re such a wiseass and think a Nissan Altima belongs in some special fridge that is reserved for cars that have a special place in my heart.
Here are some examples, because they are too easy.
Miata: Think it’s subzero? Nope, it’s just cool in my heart. It’s a great car, but some people hype it too much.
Anything made before 1971: It’s most likely subzero. Unless it’s a 2CV.
Any Ferrari made after the 360. Seriously uncool; too many people with no brains have them...
Jeep Wrangler (JK): It’s cool because of how old-fashioned it is, but the lifted Jeeps ruin them for me. Not to mention lots of people in my school had them.
Mercury Marauder: Subzero, because it’s just badass. All other Panthers are Cool.
Thank you for your time, you may resume normal programming.

Not a good idea, honestly. I did it for a while, and I found that the most “jalop” cars were cool, while the ones we were “supposed to hate” were uncool. Then if I simply did it without asking everyone of their opinions, no one would care.

I’m fairly new, so I didn’t know about this lol.

I nominate the European Ford Capri. In any of its trims and customs. It can be anything from a big block wheel standing drag carbto a corner carving go kart that eats brand new BMWs for lunch or a 1.3 litre econobox hatchback that got 30 mpg in the seventies.
Ferguson Formula 4x4 Capri. It was built by the same people who did the Jensen FF, and even uses the same center differential.
Here’s a Zakspeed tuned DTM Capri from the mid eighties.

You do bring up a good point there, but let’s see what happens, you never know ;)

Cool, it’s basically a car that’s universally loved by everyone, though it’s not quite subzero.

I’ll settle for that. Seeing as its not really popular over here. The entire Capri club for all of north america has less than 30 cars and between me and my father we have four of them. Definitely over shadowed by the Mustang that inspired it.

Say anything less than subzero and I will hunt you down and personally kick you in the dick.

It was made before 1971, and as I said a car made before then is most likely subzero. This is no exception. I loved driving this car in Test Drive Unlimited, even though it was ridiculously expensive.

TDU1 was actually the game that got me obsessed with Cobras.

The Capri will always be subzero, because DOYLE!
If you weren’t exposed to 1970s British TV that won’t mean anything to you, but trust me on this....

I never really was, but I still know Doyle. I have made a point of trying to find the Professionals to watch it.

D’oh! Bodie, not Doyle. Doyle’s the curly haired one. Shows how deeply repressed my memory of 1970s trivia is, I guess.

Its a shame Mk IIIs are so rare here, (I’m in Canada) otherwise I would have a silver 2.0 S. But my spectacularly rusty 2.8 XL that is sans engine. For now it will get the old 2 litre out my fathers MK III S but eventually I want to drop an RB26 in there.
Its a lousy shot, but there’s my Crapri.

Wow, that’s not the shiniest car in the world, is it! Is that tape holding the passenger seat together, or just the light?
A V8’s a period-legit upgrade. Just sayin....

What seat?
Ive since cleaned it out and builta new subframe for it.
As for the V8, my father has a Mk III with a Ford 5 litre pushrod V8 huffing nitrous already.
