Will be my first film camera. Hope the light seals are not bad. Will also buy an adapter to use the FD lens on my Sony NEX. Any tips for where to buy film in large quantities? Or I should just buy it from Amazon.

Not just the light seals can go bad on this model, these cameras have a mirror motion damper wheel that needs some lubrication after a few decades. If the camera makes a squealy sound when taking a picture, you need to oil your mirror return damper. The squeaky sound is awfully similar to the higher pitched noise of modern cameras, but the AE1 and AE1 program shutter sound should be completely clacky and dry.

There’s more information to be found as well.
Best of luck, I really enjoy my AE1 Program.

Thanks for the info! We’ll see if it has the squeak when it arrives. Seems like an easy fix.

Congratulations. My first film camera was a Minolta SRT-101 that my dad gave me that he used for years doing commercial appraisals and mine equipment tax work.
