The taillights on a Sprinter are a bit bigger.

Michigan manufacturer plate? Yes, that’s DEFINITELY a Mercedes-Benz Metris (the upcoming US-spec version of the V-Class).

Looks how is dwarfs that Venza!

Also, is this on a reversible express highway or something? The cars on the left-hand side of the double-yellow should not be driving forward...

It’s California with our “HOV/carpool lanes” that nobody knows how to drive in.

I didn’t even know they were bringing that here, especially as the R-class didn’t do so well, and they didn’t like to acknowledge the Sprinter as a Mercedes, and sold it as a Freightliner and Dodge instead.

I think the reason they’re bringing it here is because of the success they ended up having with the Sprinter once they started selling it here as a Mercedes-Benz, especially after the Dodge version was discontinued.

That, and the fact that the US has become a pretty accepting market when it comes to these ‘Euro-style’ vans.

First, the Sprinter. Then the Transit Connect. After that, ProMaster, Transit, and NV200.

Now, ProMaster City, City Express, and this. The Metris.

Euro-style vans are quickly becoming very popular here in the US, especially with the variety the market offers, compared to the old, traditional body-on-frame truck style vans (E-Series, Express/Savana, NV1500/NV2500HD/NV3500).

The Metris is just the latest example of this trend, and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.

Fair enough, especially the new actual M-B Sprinters. Is this supposed to compete more with a nicely loaded Transit or be more utilitarian like the commercial sprinters.

Well, if I recall properly, the Metris is supposed to be larger than a Transit Connect, but smaller than a Sprinter.

Also, there’s gonna be both a passenger and cargo version, and the passenger version isn’t gonna be as luxurious as one would expect a M-B to be, just like the passenger version of the Sprinter.
