Yeah, but they could’ve done it with a button.
For example, the E60 M5 opened up to the full 500hp with the Power button and/or M button.

You can actually just take the plates out manually. This way they're wide open all the time. My dad has the side pipes on his '14 GT with a resonator delete and GT500 quad pipes. The sound is amazing.
