The E93 seems a little cleaner than the F83.

E93, because NA V8.

E46. not ugly, yet enough power and torque to partially offset the extra convertible weight.

None of them, no matter the transmission.

E46. It’s a nice middle ground between old and new. I also find the E9X’s V8 disappointing compared to AMG stuff. The F8X as a whole package was a huge let down to actually drive. E36 interior is garbage and the US version is castrated. E30 is super cool, but honestly I wouldn’t want to deal with what I hear can be a very problematic engine.

Whichever gives me the most money when I sell it so I can buy its hardtop version.

I have an e46 ragtop and love it. Love the revs, love the rasp, love love love.

I will, however, say that the amount of cowl shake is not confidence inspiring and that full sail shift to second and third wants to twist the whole car like a jolly rancher wrapper. At 60-70%, I have very few complaints. It’s fun at nearly every level but bumper to bumper traffic.

I can feel every little thing the front end is doing and with the TC off, I can entertain myself with certain death around every radiused cloverleaf at nearly legal speeds.

With the top down, I can enjoy spirited wind-over-the-ever-expanding-baldspot driving while still carrying onconversation with the missus—which I enjoy. The backseats fit a car seat perfectly, and loading a 3year old in with the top down is a joy for anyone who has ever tried to do the same thing in nearly any coupe.

The e30 ‘verts were leaky suckers, and the e36 is a great motor in a problematic car. The e93 looks too fussy (esp in convertible) but sounds awesome. The F83 has that dead steering feel issue, which is a shame because it sorta ruins it for me (I’m sure I’d get used to it if someone gave me one). However, both the newer models have more structural tops so might be less twisty with the tops up.

E36 so I can take parts off of it to use on my car since they're both Arctic Silver.

E30, or E93.

Probably because I was born in ‘72, but the E30 convertible gives me the most feels and nostalgia (similar feelings when I see a VW Rabbit Cabriolet). Agree with others that the E93 seems the most right, although I don’t like the taillights. I prefer my Miata over any of them.

I’m not a convertible guy, but this one, since no 400+ lb hardtop.

Normally I'd choose the E30, but because early convertibles aren't really known for their structureal rigidity, I'll go for the E93.
